Sony Ericsson K300i Keypad Problem

Introduction.

Sony Ericsson K300 is one of small simple Cellphone but full of usefully content. Besides for voice communication and sms, this phone also equipped with GPRS capability and can be used as internet modem via data cable or infra red connection. The specification of this gadged is allso more than enough with 65000 color screen, mp3 player, VGA camera and vidoe player that can play mp3 format music, take a picture or play 3gpp video.

Problem

One of common problem of this phone is keypad problem or joystick problem. It happen after long use, because of dust, sweath, or other liquids stuff. These are the solution to solve keypad problem.

Solution

1. Open the antena cover using pinset look picture 4 (antena cover is the cover above batery cover that surround the camera look picture 1 above).
2. Unscrew all 4 screw using bit 6 screw driver (picture 3).
3. Open the front cover by sliding from side using thin can or your nail (look picture 2).
4. After you open the front cover you will fine the PCB below the keypad, open the white sticker that cover the PCB key (it calls key foil) and clean the PCB using soft pencil eraser. if necessary you can use 90% alcohol liquids to make easier to clean.
5. For joystick, just clean using 90% alcohol and make easier for lubrication.
6. After you finished, stick the key foil again to the PCB, and reasembled again all phone.

Bluetooth Connectivity Problem

Bluetooth is a very useful connectivity tools that installed in a now days Cellphone but it's also one the common cause of the problem in your cellphone. These are some of the problem causing by bluetooth conectivity :
1. Phone Hang or freezing.
2. Blank Display / Nothing in the display.

It is also to avoid loosing crucial and confidential data in your phone, because it is easy for some one to steal data in your phone using bluetooth conectivity.
• Avoid using your phone as an internet modem via bluetooth connectivity. why? Because it will shortened your phone life time. How is that possible? Because when you use bluetooth connectivity as your invisible cable to your phone modem it makes your phone work double job, it transmits bluetooth signal and also cellular communication signal. When it works more it produce heat and the heat will make the components wreck.
  
• Do Not use the Bluetooth connectivity too long. The reason of this tips is similar to the second point tips, and because the bluetooth connectivity in a phone is not to be designed for long time usage. It's just designed to be an invisible cable for your phone connectivity.

If your phone is already have the bluetooth connectivity problem, follow some of these repair tips:

• Upgrade the Phone Firm Software. Beacuse it also will reset all the phone settings (works in most of Sony Ericsson Phone) .
  
• Re soldered the bluetooth IC using Hot Air Solder. Some of problem occur because the components was incorrectly soldered.

• Re-place the Bluetooth IC. This is most solution to overcome the problem, because most of the bluetooth IC is not too reliable designed.

Sony Ericsson Z310 SIM Holder Problem

Problem description

Some markets have reported problems with the SIM Holder for Z310, possibly due to users not understanding how the SIM card should be removed.
The problem consists of uprooted SIM connector pads / damage to the PCB, and may be seen as follows:
- the SIM Holder is detached entirely with all the pins broken from the PCB
- the SIM Holder is detached partially with several pins broken from the PCB
- bend marks on the SIM Holder
- scratches are visible, from whatever tool the user used to open the SIM Holder.
- missing SIM Holder

Solution

This should be treated as "Partially In-Warranty" on a case by case basis, with more
tolerance to accept as "In-Warranty" when consumer challenges the issue.
It should be treated as "Out-Of-Warranty" for very obvious cases of customer abuse, e.g.
where there are clear bend marks on the SIM Holder, where the SIM Holder obviously is
loose/sticking up on one side, or where the SIM Holder has been ripped out completely.
Shield can label and KRH label have been updated with a SIM symbol and a leaflet has
been added to the kit, showing how to insert/remove the SIM card.

Sony Ericsson W910 Navigator Key Problem

Introduction

The metal carrier attached to the Navi Key PBA will cause damage to the board. Due
to the damage, key 8, # and Volume down will stop function. The problem has been
corrected in several steps between week43 and week46 in 2007 production and at supplier.
The problem is considered solved from week46 and onwards.

Solution

By replacing the Navi Key PBA, spare part number: 1201-8367. the problem will be
solved.
